Once in a life-time, we come across wonderful inspirational sagas that make us rethink about our aim in life. This is an inspiring story of catering Queen Rhona Silver who, with her hard work and sheer strength, brought a revolutionary change in the catering world by overcoming all the adversities that came on her way of success.
Rhona was not from those lucky ones who born with a silver spoon in their mouth, all she had were her zeal and enthusiasm to become successful and ,today, her name is counted in luminaries who contributed to give new direction to the catering industry.
Rhona often says, “Catering is in my DNA”. It’s actually true. Born and bred up in a catering environment, Rhona’s parents were also run their own catering business in a small town of America. So, she learnt the basics of catering from her parents in her early childhood. Later, after completing her studies in law, she opted the catering as a full-time profession.
She was always known for her unique and attractive style of preparing and presenting delicious food in the surrounding industry. It seems she was well known to the expression that, “People eat with their eyes first. If you have a restaurant that is appealing, contemporary, and relevant both from the street and interior, the food tastes better.”
Keeping this idea in mind, in the year 1996, she made wise investment in buying a property of 150,000 sq. ft. that was spread over 18 acres of land and later, she opened a palatial looking catering hall over it, the Huntington Townhouse which was the largest catering hall the United States of America. This palatial was the perfect example of fine artwork and was the “go-to-palace” for many royal events such as wedding parties, trade shows, bat mitzvahs and other corporate events.
In this way, Ms. Silver became the gleaming star of the American catering industry. But still she had a want to do something with the help of which people from different corners of the world can take advantage of the catering facilities. So, with an idea to spread her catering services world she turned her offline catering venue to online and Co-founded an internet based catering company “caterbid.com”.
